Addressing Driveway Access and Backyard Drainage Challenges

The property originally had a large circular gravel driveway situated on an incline, causing vehicles to frequently spin their tires when driving uphill. The homeowner needed a more stable driving surface that would provide easier access while improving the driveway's overall appearance.

The backyard also faced significant drainage problems due to the property's location against a large mountain. Managing water flowing through the property was an important part of the improvements, along with addressing muddy conditions and creating a more secure outdoor area.

A Closer Look at the Property Improvements

This project involved several improvements across the driveway and backyard to address existing property challenges. From replacing the gravel driving surface to managing drainage and enclosing the yard, each part of the project contributed to a more functional and finished property.

• Circular Paver Driveway: Relocated the existing gravel elsewhere on the property and installed a large circular driveway using Phoenix Pavers Slate, creating a more stable driving surface.
• Masonry Retaining Wall: Constructed a masonry retaining wall in the backyard as part of the drainage solution to help manage water flowing through the property.
• Chain-Link Fencing: Installed chain-link fencing along the top of the retaining wall and around the rest of the backyard to help prevent free-ranging cattle from entering the property.
• Decomposed Granite Installation: Added decomposed granite throughout the backyard to provide a clean, finished surface and help eliminate the muddy conditions the homeowner previously experienced.
